Little by little the photography social network explores new horizons. And it is that, beyond Instagram Stories, which is its goose that lays the golden eggs, there are interesting news in its functions. Tools that creators are developing to surprise users and followers with new skins, even games, and now also Augmented Reality tools for drawing. A first step out of the pot that is turning heads.
We are talking about the filter 3D art by the creator @rbkavin, which takes advantage of the Instagram Stories platform to show masks on the user's face but to draw.Something that had not been seen until now in this application. But the funny thing is that it is not a usual drawing. It is 3D, with the possibility of drawing on the reality that surrounds us. And it's really amazing. Even if you don't dream of becoming a Picasso of our time, at times it's a fairly complex filter.
How to get the 3D art filter
The process to have it is the same as that of any filter or mask of Instagram Stories. Just follow @rbkavin's account to appear as one of his skins in the Instagram Stories selection. Once this account is followed, this or other creator tools are already available.
Of course we can also try this filter without having to follow the account. We can also search for it directly in the creator's profile. For this we look for this profile and go down to the content of the account. Among the different tabs is one with the icon of a smiley or face. By clicking on it we find all the works that he shares from his account. Among them is 3D art. All that remains is to click on the effect to see a story of the creator using it. Right at the bottom appears the button Try, which takes us directly to our Instagram Stories camera to set everything up.
This way we can use the Augmented Reality mask to draw in 3D without the need to add another account to a follow. Of course, this means that, once we publish the story, or even if we don't, we will lose the reference of the effect. In other words, we will not find it in the effects carousel when we enter Instagram Stories
Drawing with 3D art
Here comes the hard part. And it is that this effect seems created without thinking about the end user. Or, at least, without thinking of a practical way to draw. Although it has several extra tools to control the stroke, color and other details.
Once we click on the effect, a blue square appears on the screen. It is the stroke with which to draw. To do this, you just have to press on the screen with one finger and slide it in the direction in which you want to carry the stroke. This remains always on the same plane Of course, as long as we do not use the controls in the form of arrows and numbers that appear on the screen.
The numbers establish the value of separation between the points or squares that are the stroke. And the arrows change in the plane of it. In this way we can control the height at which to draw, and the density of the section. A somewhat complex mechanic that should be practiced to be able to draw something with sense. In addition to these controls, there are several more tones to change the color of the stroke and create more complex compositions.
The interesting thing is that we can move around the room without the composition moving from its place where we drew it. So we can see it from any perspective and enjoy the creation.
