If you are one of those who work on a computer but are always glued to your mobile, receiving notifications from it on your PC is usually useful to manage all your tasks and chores. Even more so if you can easily share files between one another and have everything you need close at hand. Well, that's what the application Your phone, from Microsoft, is for. Of course, now it can do even more for you.
And it is that in the last update the aforementioned function of receiving notifications on the computer has been introduced. In this way, functions are added and we can know in which application we have received a new feature. All this without having to spend time accessing the mobile to check this information. Of course, apparently the function is reaching users progressively and gradually. The requirements are to have Windows 10 and its April 2018 update and an Android phone
Of course, it is necessary to have the Your Phone application installed on the Windows computer, updated to its latest version. You can download it completely free from the Microsoft Store. Also, you need the companion app on your Android mobile. Its name is Your Phone Companion, and it is available on the Google Play Store at no cost. That being said, we can start with the tutorial.
Fine tunning
After installing the Your Phone Companion app on your Android mobile, you will need to accept certain permissions on the device Issues such as voice control calls, photo and file management, and the ability to stay active in the background. Measures necessary for everything to work as it should. Of course you will also have to enter your Microsoft user account, as well as the password. It is the step prior to linking the mobile to your computer.
In the meantime, you can install the Your Phone application on your Windows computer. After that you will also have to enter your user account so that everything is linked together.
Now all you have to do is enter the phone number where you have installed the Your Phone Companion application. In this way, the computer program launches a direct link to the mobile so that everything is linked.
After a few minutes of checking between mobile and computer, everything is ready to start operating and working. All that remains is to click on the Allow button for the link to be effective.
Receiving notifications on the computer desktop
As we say, the feature is coming in a phased manner, so be patient if you don't already have it at this point. When you do, the Your Phone program will have more sections besides the photo gallery and text messages. Specifically, it will have two more features: play the mobile screen on the computer to find out what is happening, and the one that concerns us in this tutorial: show incoming notifications from your mobile on the computer
It is enough that you have this option activated in the settings of the Your Phone program. With this, as if it were another notification from Windows, you will see in the lower right corner any notice that reaches your mobile. It doesn't matter if it's a Snapchat notification, a direct message from Instagram, or an announcement from one of your games. Everything plays without problem. And the good thing is that if you remove the notification on your computer, you'll also do it on your mobile Something that will save you time when managing all these notifications.
Of course, at the moment it is not possible to make quick responses to messaging notifications such as WhatsApp on the computer. But they are already working on it to add it in future updates.
