WhatsApp works so you can add contacts by scanning a QR code
Table of contents:
The WhatsApp instant messaging application does not stop in its efforts to become the best private messaging service and that is why it continually applies improvements for the user. The last ones that are known have to do with how to add contacts to our agenda. It is, specifically, the possibility that we will have to add anyone to our WhatsApp account by scanning a QR code. You open a QR scanner on your mobile, the person you want to add opens the code on theirs, and when passing the reader the contact will be added automatically.
In addition to being able to add a contact present through a QR code, we can also provide a third-party code for the same operation. Currently we can send contact sheets through WhatsApp, something that is also undoubtedly useful: when the recipient receives the card, they only have to click on it to add said contact to their own agenda. And so it will continue to be done if both the sender and the recipient are not in the same place. What happens if two people are on the same site and one wants to send you the contact of a third party? That you can do it in a future version of WhatsApp by scanning a QR code. That easy.
At the moment it is not known, for sure, when this new function will appear in WhatsApp. Surely, at first all those who make up the beta group of the application will be able to count on it. In this group, its members have the possibility of downloading a non-final version of the application to test the new functions that will be integrated (or not) in the final version.Do you want to be part of the WhatsApp beta group? Well, it's very simple. You just have to follow the steps that we indicate below.
How to join the WhatsApp beta group
The first thing we have to do is uninstall the WhatsApp application that we have installed, since it is the official version and it is not the one we will use from now on. Once you no longer have it on your phone, we are going to go to the WhatsApp beta group page.
If you look at the previous screenshot, at the bottom of the screen, there is a blue box where you can read 'Become a tester'. Click on the box to be part of the beta group. The following screen will then appear.
At this moment you are part of the group of testers of the WhatsApp application. You will continuously receive updates that will bring you all the news that, in the future, will be integrated into the final version. Now, you will have to go to the Google Play Store application and download WhatsApp, installing it as you have done so far. We warn you that, as this is a non-definitive version of the application, it may cause some errors, unexpected closures or excessive battery consumption. But it is the price to pay for having, before anyone else, functions such as adding contacts through a QR code. We advise you to take an in-depth look at the WhatsApp beta version settings to check all the new features it includes.
