Google has been investigated and sanctioned for some time for the monopolistic practices of the company but what many do not quite know is what the company does big G with our data. Google stores a lot of information about everything we do on the Internet. As a result of this, many users have been asking, for a long time, for a function that allows them to delete all the data that Google stores in each of the accounts and finally those of Mountain View have accessed.
Google now allows users to automatically delete all location history along with Google browsing data. This is possible on both Android and iPhone and is available today.
How to activate Google's auto-delete data?
Although this function has been enabled, it is not activated by default, we will have to follow some very simple steps in the Google search application:
- We enter the Google application.
- We scroll to the section that says More (in Android we find it at the bottom right).
- Once here we click on the option Search Activity or My activity (at this moment it is not yet translated).
- A new browser tab will open (in some cases) and on that same screen we will see a setting that says Change this setting.
It will be in that place where you can configure the automatic deletion or establish the manual deletion of the data. We can set different dates. In the following GIF we see the complete process.
What dates can we configure?
Google allows us to adjust the automatic deletion in 3 different options:
- Manual, eliminating them only when pressing.
- Save and delete after 18 months.
- Save it and delete it after 3 months, the latter being the most aggressive.
Google Saved Data helps to improve your navigation, both for you and for Google advertisers. You choose when you want to delete them. Keep in mind that once the data is automatically deleted, Google's recommendations towards your user will be completely restarted. This same setting will appear in the location history tab, allowing us to adjust the automatic deletion of data.
In our case we already have access to the option but if it still does not appear on your mobile it will be a matter of days before it is shown ( as long as you have the latest version of the Google app). You have more information about this new feature on the Google blog.
