Google will take a little longer to pay you back for a refund
Table of contents:
Until now, when one bought an application in the Google Play Store and decided to return it, Google had only fifteen minutes to refund the money in the client's account. In a quarter of an hour, the user had to decide if the purchase he had made was to his liking. After this short period of time, with the usual exceptions, the buyer was not en titled to a refund, having to keep the purchase on his mobile even if he did not want it.
4 days to return the money for an application
The Google customer support and assistance page has changed regarding the return period for an application. Now, instead of a 15-minute trial, Google can take up to four days to deliver a refund if accepted. There are times when an application can be verified in fifteen minutes, cases in which, with just a cursory glance, we know whether or not it will be worth the money we have spent. However, in other types of applications, with complex configurations or that require, for example, a Bluetooth connection, it is only with the passing of days that we will know better if it works well or adequately for us. However, it seems that it may take Google more time, from now on, to determine if it will return your money based on the reason you have given.
How do I request an app refund in the Google Play Store?
If you want to return an application that you have purchased and you are within the estimated time frame (usually 48 hours) for it, try Do the next:
Grab your computer and go to the Google transaction web page at this link.
On this screen you will be able to see in detail all the transactions you have made in the Google Play Store. If you look, next to each application that you have purchased (all appear, even those that were on sale, they did not cost you anything, and you have downloaded) a three-dot menu appears next to the name of the application, the date on the one you bought it, the amount you paid and the category to which said application belongs. We are going to click on the three-point menu.
A small pop-up window will then appear in which we can read 'Request a refund'. Press here.
Next you will have to choose the reason for which you want the refund of the application in question. They are as follows:
- I made this purchase by mistake
- I no longer want this purchase
- A friend or family member made this purchase without my consent
- I do not recognize this purchase or charge
- I have made the purchase, but I have not received it
- Purchase is defective or not working as intended
Depending on the reason we have chosen, we will then see one text or another. In my case, I have selected 'The purchase has defects or does not work as expected' and this has been the message received.
A return request delivery verification message will then appear. Now all you have to do is wait to receive an email from Google itself, telling you if the money is returned or, on the contrary, you are already out of time or conditions .
