If you've updated Instagram recently, you may have been in for a couple of surprises. One, the nice one, is a new design for Instagram Stories, which places more elements on the interface and allows for more comfortable use of masks and filters. The other, nasty one, is that your filter collection has been cut. Especially if you had a good amount. But don't put your hands to your head just yet. It is a matter of order. Here we show you how to recover those filters and masks that you miss on Instagram.
Apparently, and without any kind of notice or indication from Instagram, the application has decided to relocate the filters and masks O At least hide them so they don't clutter up the carousel that now appears at the bottom of Instagram Stories. This does not mean that they have disappeared completely, or that you have stopped following the accounts that provided them to you. Nor that their creators have eliminated them. You're just going to have to take a couple of extra steps to get them handy again.
Go to Instagram Stories and check out your now meager collection of skins. Surely, your old and extensive collection consisted of various filters and skins from the same creators. Currently you will only have one of each of them.
To access the rest of the skins, move the carousel until one is selected. Then click on their name, which appears next to an arrow at the bottom of the screen. This causes a pop-up window to be displayed with the name and icon of the selected skin, as well as its creator's account. Well, the More button also appears with three dots When clicking on it, a pop-up window gives us different options for the mask, such as removing or reporting the effect. But the function that interests us is the one that reads: see more effects of the account
This will take us to the account of the creator of the filter in question. Here we can review your name, number of followers or even the featured Stories, where the results of using your filters, masks and effects are usually shared. But the key is at the bottom of the profile. And it is that, instead of collecting the photos and videos that they have published, the different effects, masks and filters created are shown
This way we can do a quick review of all the creations of these profiles. Just by clicking on one of them we will see a 15-second story demonstrating the effect it contains. And more importantly, a button at the bottom of the screen that says: try
Clicking on this Instagram button takes us directly to Instagram Stories to apply the effect on our face or the environment. Just as if you had selected it directly from the beginning. The caveat is that, with this process, doesn't mean that it will be available in your collection the next time you open Instagram Stories That is, if you want to go back to To use this effect you have to remember who its creator is and follow the steps again, searching their profile (from Instagram Stories) for the desired effect.
We will have to see if this is not just an Instagram test or experiment before looking for a more comfortable and simple way to find all the effects of Instagram Stories. But, for now, it is the formula to find those masks and filters that we thought had disappeared A few simple steps but that force the user to memorize the creator or, at least , the process to find more filters.
