Google Lens is expanded with new filters for menus and purchases

Earlier this month Google announced new filters for Google Lens. These new additions would allow us to analyze our surroundings with our phone and give us data as valuable as the menu of a restaurant or its most popular dishes, for example. These features have started to reach users albeit with a small redesign.
The new Google Lens interface can be accessed via Google Assistant or directly from Google Photos. We can now access 5 new modes that can be selected using a horizontal scroll.In these new modes we have the options: automatic, translation, text, purchases and meals.
Google Lens adds new modes with Artificial Intelligence like other brands
This is not new at all, as we have already seen similar operation in assistants from other companies such as Huawei or Samsung The operation in fact, it is very similar. The automatic mode can analyze what we are seeing and identify it, although it will not be the most accurate of all. In the next two, the translation mode allows us to obtain a text in our language in real time and the text mode is designed to export letters from the real world to our smartphone without having to write them.
Finally, the modes of shopping or eating can further analyze the products.Shopping mode is capable of recognizing objects through their shapes or even their barcodes. What the food option does is provide us with the menus of certain restaurants, although for that the businesses would have to have prepared first.
Lens options are great, but many businesses are not ready
These modes appear in a small carousel at the bottom of the screen and the button to capture images does not have to be pressed, Google Lens starts working as soon as it detects an object in front of the camera. Another of the interesting options of this software is that it can analyze the photos that we already have in the gallery and not only those images that we are focusing on with the camera. It is also possible to select only a piece of the image and analyze it, in case not the whole photograph is important.
This new redesign of Google Lens is available for people using Google 9.91 beta, it seems exclusive to Pixel phones but has also been tested on some Samsung phones already. It will soon be available to everyone as indicated by 9to5Google.
