Google Play now also allows you to pay with cash
Currently, to buy on Google Play it is necessary to make a payment with a bank card or through PayPal. The company has announced that it is beginning to adopt another payment method with a cash balance. In this way, underage users, or those who do not have a bank account, will be able to easily buy apps without restrictions At the moment, this system is being used out in Mexico, although it is expected to start expanding to other places in the coming months.
Google Play is reaching agreements with different stores and supermarket chains to include a service to top up with cash. As we say, it is already being tested in Mexico, more specifically in Oxxo stores. Therefore, if you live in Mexico you can go to an Oxxo store and ask them to recharge your Google Play account balance. You will only have to provide them with your linked email to Google Play and pay the recharge. Immediately, your Google Play balance will be positive with the money you have recharged.
Google has not reported whether it is necessary to enter a minimum amount, or if there are additional costs for carrying out the transaction. In any case, this is good news for those people who cannot have a credit card or a card to top up their balance. Thanks to this system they will be able to buy on Google Play in a simple way.
This has not been the only change announced for Google Play. During the Google I/O developer conference, the company has commented that it will change the way applications are calculated starting in August. Basically, an app's rating will be determined by giving more weight to the most recent ratings, forgetting the ratings that were made on older versions. This makes a lot of sense, since if an app gets off to a bad start on Google Play due to bugs or errors, once they are fixed, the bad score given would not have to affect the average score.
