Google Maps is updated with a new look for the user account

We have interesting news and this time they affect Google Maps. This week, Google announced its Google I/O some important news, linked to each and every one of its services. One of the most interesting had to do with a new account selector, now available for several applications and especially useful for those users who manage or manage different Google accounts.
In any case, this selector is already available for different important applications, such as Gmail or ContactsThe fact is that this same option has also been launched for users of Google Maps. And to achieve this, logically, some central aspects of the application design have had to be modified. Let's see what they are.
News in the appearance of the user account
The Google Maps user account will undergo changes shortly. In fact, it is expected that the update of this section will reach common users very soon. We have not received it yet, but the Android Police experts have already had the opportunity to share the news through some first screenshots.
At the bottom you have a screenshot of what this section looked like before the renovation. As you can see, the main navigation box undergoes an important change, which has to do with the disappearance of the background cover photo of Google+, a social network which, as you know, has already disappeared.It makes little sense, then, that in the area of the maps user account – and of any other application – the cover photo inherited from the user account in that social network continues to be displayed.
The change is significant, since the space seems to be better used and a strip is dispensed with that in principle is not necessary at all. Somehow, the style that Google has been integrating into all its services in recent times is applied
From now on, the account selector also changes places. Instead of being in the menu, we will find it directly in the main interface of the application, right in the search bar, at the top right. Right next to the microphone icon.
Manage your Google account
By clicking here, in the user selector, we can change the account or even add a new one. You can also manage email addresses The following option has been included in this section: Manage your Google account. By clicking here, we will access myaccount.google.com.
From this section we can carry out all the procedures related to your Google account, including changing security, privacy, history and other settings.
If you're wondering when these changes will be available, we have to tell you that they've started arriving server-side. This means that, in principle, it will not be necessary to update the application through the Google Play Store. We recommend you to wait and be patient, news should not be long in coming.
