Having the option to surf the net without leaving a trace of what we do is an interesting possibility available in many applications. Developers add this option more and more frequently and now it is the turn of Google Maps. Incognito mode will come to the Google navigation application The firm has confirmed it at the Google I/O of 2019 and it has not been the only novelty. Users will be able to avoid being tracked on Maps and leave information about their searches and the routes they have taken.
There are a lot of reasons to limit the amount of data Google collects and this is a big step. Turning off location history isn't enough and this new mode will allow you to clear all activity from Maps with the press of a button Imagine that a person is looking for a private clinic. Without incognito mode these searches show up in recent activity and no one has to know where you've gone. Even if you have gone out for drinks and have been visiting nightclubs, you are free to decide if you want to show this activity or not. The large number of situations in which incognito mode can be used is up to the user.
How to activate incognito mode on Google Maps?

When the update is available, at this moment it is not yet possible to activate it, just click on our profile image on the top rightand activate this mode. The process can be seen in the GIF shared on Google's Twitter. Returning it to normal mode will be as easy as repeating the steps in reverse.
Incognito mode will not prevent other applications outside of Google Maps from showing your location such as WhatsApp or Facebook. It will only affect searches made on Google Maps. There are plenty of apps out there that expose your location. Google assures that this feature will be available soon for all users.
Incognito mode also comes to your search app
In addition to Google Maps, incognito mode will also be available in the Google search app (the one we use to invoke the assistant from Google manually). In this way, it joins other applications with incognito mode such as YouTube and Chrome. The latter will also receive improvements in the control of cookies.
