So you can create Pokémon GO events in your city
Do you think your city has the perfect park to host a Niantic event in real life? In that case, it is best that you let the company know through social networks. The creator of Pokémon Go has launched an initiative for you to argue why the place where you live has the best space to carry out one of its events. You can participate through Twitter or Instagram, or directly by sending your proposal through the company's website. On social networks, all you have to do is nominate your city with the hashtag NianticLive2020.
Niantic exposes a series of fundamental criteria to know if your city deserves to be nominated. For example: do you have a large and leafy park with more than 20 or 40 hectares? Are there dates available to hold an event? Is there wireless connectivity?… It is also important to know if it is allowed hold festivals in that park,if it is safe, or if there is an enthusiastic community of players in that city.
All proposals will be accepted until October 1st. It is the deadline that the company sets for the player community to organize and submit them for NianticLive2020. In order for your city to get the company's attention, it recommends teaming up with other players in the area to promote it. Another option is to contact the local authorities to register an official request. On the developer's page you will find a form to carry out this type of request.
The fact of sending the proposal does not imply that the park in your city will finally be accepted, but it is clear that it will have much more visibility for Niantic if you make it known through the initiative. Regarding the festivals for this year, at the moment there are several dates set for the Pokémon Go Fest: Chicago from June 13 to 16; Dortmund (Germany) from July 4 to 7. These will not be the only events, more are expected for the Asia-Pacific region.
