Google's calculator also goes to the dark side
Table of contents:
Google is doing a good job in applying dark mode to Android, its operating system. Android Q, the next version, will come with a night mode that will allow us to save more autonomy. This will be compatible with the main Google applications, even with third-party apps, which will also adapt to black tones. Android Q isn't finally available yet, so we'll have to make do with local updates. Now, the Google Calculator app gets this dark mode.
The Google Calculator app currently has a white background. This is very aesthetically beautiful, but it does not help in saving battery life. The new version, which will soon be available on Google Play, comes with that Dark mode that so many of us have been waiting for. The interesting thing is that it is not applied, but we have to choose it ourselves. In the menu in the upper zone we will see the option to change the theme We will have three; light color (comes by default), a dark color (allows us to save autonomy, similar to the one it had in previous versions) and the most interesting, an option that adjusts the tone depending on the autonomy savings.
This last option detects when the device is in 'battery saving' mode and applies dark mode Works well, especially in OLED panels, as this technology turns off the black pixels on the panel. It boils down to less battery drain. When you select an option, it will always be applied by default, unless you have chosen the third option.
Download the new version
The dark theme in the calculator arrives with version 7.1. Little by little it is reaching all users through Google Play. If you want to try it now, you can download the APK from APK Mirror. The Google calculator is not an app for the Pixels. Any user can download it on Google Play, as long as their phone is compatible.
