How to use YouTube Music as your Android's music player
Table of contents:
YouTube Music, also known as 'Google Spotify' has just been updated to replace the music player on your Android mobile. That is, to be able to listen to all the MP3 files that you have in the internal memory of your phone without having to use other third-party applications. This new YouTube Music feature will scour your phone's storage to locate the music you have downloaded and add it to a new music library option. Before we could already play other files through YouTube Music but always using third-party applications as file managers that acted as a mediator. Now we will have the local file player installed in the tool itself.

In the screenshot we now see how a new tab appears in YouTube Music, corresponding to the local files. It clarifies that the songs cannot be added to playlists or playback queues with the other songs that integrate the YouTube Music application. They also cannot be sent for transmission by another tool, such as Chromecast. We do not know for sure if this same tab will appear in other application categories such as 'Songs' or 'Albums'.
This new functionality will appear through a internal server update and not through an APK file that can be downloaded from the Play Store or from a repository. If you already have the latest version of YouTube Music and this tab still does not appear, you should wait for it to update.
The YouTube Music service appeared in our lives to shelve Google Play Music. This service costs 10 euros per month, the standard price for this type of music streaming service. You can also benefit from discounts when hiring the family package for 15 euros per month, which would give premium service to 6 family members as long as they are over 13 years of age and live at the same address.
