The instant messaging application for iOS and Android BlackBerry Messenger will close for good on May 31, that is, in just over a month. The company has explained that users will have until that day to download all the photos,videos or files they want to keep. Of course, it will not be possible to export the contacts and the feed. Neither are BBMoji and BBM Stickers, which can be used until the application is closed.
It was the chronicle of a death announced, despite the fact that the company has not explained the reasons for this closure, nor has it provided the number of unique users that the app had. BlackBerry Messenger was born on October 21, 2013, getting 20 million downloads in just one week. This figure has been dropping drastically over time. It can be said that the platform has not been able to keep up with rivals such as Facebook, the great Internet giant mobile communications.

BlackBerry Messenger, managed by the Indonesian company Emtek, has been updated on different occasions with new functions.
