How to download YouTube videos on your Android mobile
Over time, operators have been increasing the offer of mobile data in their rate packages, giving the user the possibility of adapting to the consumption of multimedia content that the times demand. Instagram stories, series and TV on demand, YouTube videos... our mobile is no longer used only to make calls (in fact, we use it less and less to talk on the phone) and it has become a portable screen that we always carry with us in your bag or pocket.
But not all of us have the possibility of contracting an unlimited data rate or subscribing to Premium accounts to be able to download videos. And this is where the New Pipe app comes in. New Pipe is a YouTube video manager from which you can download, on your mobile, the videos of the platform you want, to watch them later without spending a single data of your rate. And not only that, but we will also be able to play any video we want with the screen off if the playback is played, as long as the video is not downloaded.
However, you should know something before you start downloading New Pipe. This application cannot be found within the Google Play Store application, so if you want to install it on your device you must be responsible for any incident that your phone may have. Applications that do not have the approval of Google can be a door to viruses, intruders and other foreign friends, so we ask for caution when downloading this application, which we can do from the link in APK Mirror.
Once you have downloaded and installed it, we are going to teach you how to, first, download the videos you want and, second, to activate video playback with the screen off (see previous screenshots).
To download a video you must press the download arrow when you enter the selected video. Once clicked, a small window will open in which you can choose to download the full video or just the audio, in addition to the sub titles if any. We can choose the quality of the download. But it hasn't started yet. To do this we go to the 'downloads' section that you will find in the three-point menu located in the upper right corner. In the box that appears, where it says 'In queue', press. The download will begin automatically and, when it is finished, we can watch the video from this screen, using a video player or from Google Photos.
To be able to listen to a video in the background with the screen turned off (see previous screenshots), press the headphones icon while we are playing a video. To access this icon, click once on the video, you will see a small arrow that will display the headphones icon. To return to the video view, we will have to display the notification bar, click on the three-point menu in the upper right and then 'switch to main'. If we click on 'Change to popup' we can see the video screen superimposed on other applications, so as not to lose detail of the video.
Remember that this application does not comply with the standards stipulated by Google Play to be able to be in its official store. The download file is almost 6 MB in size.
