VLC player is once again compatible with Huawei smartphones
Table of contents:
Last July, VideoLAN, developer of the VLC app, decided to remove compatibility with Huawei terminals due to mismanagement of EMUI, the Chinese company's customization layer. According to VideoLAN, the interface was too resource-intensive and limited options, such as enabling background playback. Now, and after months of complaints from users towards VideoLAN, the app is once again compatible.
Compatibility returns after months of complaints from users, but mainly due to improvements in Huawei's customization layer, which no longer requires so many resources from applications. The VLC app is now available for download on Google Play. Of course, for free. Previously, if you wanted to enjoy the player, you needed to download the APK file from the internet. The truth is that VLC has been available for a few months in the Android application store for Huawei mobiles. As announced by the developer through a Tweet, VLC was activated moments after Huawei changed its EMUI options.
Dear friends of @AndroidPolice: it's been available for months already. Huawei fixed their firmware a long time ago, and we released the day after the availability. But you know, you can contact us: we have a press email https://t.co/XrZSmuZcDb

To download VLC, you can click here. The page will take you to Google Play, where you can install the app on your terminal remotely. You can also go to Google Play and type in the search engine ‘VLC’. Finally, you can download the APK from APK Mirror.
