Google Play Books adopted the latest Google Material design in January, with a slightly livelier version of the original Material Design. Despite this, that version did not have too many changes in the functions of the application. Regular users of Google Play Books have been waiting for some features more than the new icons and these arrive in the latest version of the application.
You can now choose the sound quality in audiobooks
Several new features are coming in the latest version, including the ability to choose the audio quality for audiobooks from Google Play Books. This option only allows you to select between Standard quality or High quality, but it may be sufficient for most users. What we don't know is how much difference there is between one version and another, totally ignoring the amount of data we can save if we opt for the smaller version.
To change the quality we just have to enter the Settings of the application and select the option «Audio quality».
It is also possible to change the duration of rewinds and forwards
Another novelty that we find in this new version of Google Play Books is the possibility to change the duration of the buttons that we allow you to move forward or backward in the application. It is possible to select separately between intervals of 5, 15, 30 and 60 seconds. This is very useful depending on the type of book we are listening to, it could be important to change this option in certain works where we have to constantly go back to the previous sentence.
This option can be changed from the Settings, selecting the number of seconds we want to advance or go back. These are the two big changes we're seeing in Google Play Books, but not the only ones.
What else has changed?
In this new version of Google Play Books we also have a more direct access to Settings (a little hidden until now) and add new icons to the application both in the store and in the bookstore.Among the options of the new version it seems that Android Police has found evidence that soon we will be able to read some books for free in exchange for watching .
