Tax Agency, what to do if I can't download the application on Android?

The 2018 Income Tax campaign began on April 2, at which time we Spaniards must settle accounts with the Treasury. A process that year after year tries to be less traumatic and more accessible to all users. That is why, for several editions, it is already possible to manage it completely from the mobile. For this we only need two applications: Tax Agency, to carry out all the processes and report our tax situation, and PINto make all this safe.

The problem occurs when the Tax Agency application fails which, at the time this article is being written, has disappeared for the Android platformAnd it is that not even the links from the official website of the Tax Agency to the Google Play Store offer results.

We have contacted the technical support of the Tax Agency to find out what has happened. Although everything indicates that it is a technical failure that has crept into the latest version of the application for Android. Or at least that can be seen from the comments received by the commented technical support account on the social network Twitter, where reports failures to enter the Renta Web servicevia mobile. But, then, what do we do?

How to consult or present the 2018 Income from your mobile without the app

The most useful and possible alternative to check or submit the 2018 Income Tax return from your mobile is to use the web version of the Tax Agency page.Basically it would be doing the same thing that we would do from a computer, but through the touch screen of the mobile. Of course, through the web browser on duty (usually Google Chrome if Android is used), instead of the Tax Agency application.

The differences lie more in the design and user experience than in the process. Thus, from the website we will find all the menus, options and services available to the Tax Agency, instead of focusing on the 2018 Income processes that the application presents in a more detailed and accessible way. The good thing is that this web version has responsive design, so it adapts to the proportions and sizes of any mobile screen to make it as comfortable as possible.

• The first thing to do is enter the web page www.agenciatributaria.es. Just type these letters in the address bar at the top of the screen, or write “tax agency” directly in the Google search engine to access the first response from it.

• Then we look for the section Income 2018. It has its own icon in the central part of the screen, along with the rest of the campaigns and important sections of the website.
• From here on, the different options related to Income Tax 2018 are presented. We can obtain the reference number to start processing it, consult our tax data collected by this institution, request an appointment so that a specialized agent to answer questions or fill out the 2018 Income Tax or, most importantly, enter Renta WEB to check the status of the processing or review and present the draft .

• Once we click on any of these options, especially if we want to enter the Renta WEB service, we are asked to choose a type of access. It is the same step as in the application or in the web version for computers. Thus, we must choose between the electronic certificate (available only on a computer), the PIN or the reference number of our previous declaration. Whichever option we choose (PIN or reference number), the experience will be the same as on the computer. Here we need either the reference number from our previous statement or use the PIN application to securely access our data.

• The rest of the process is the same. We can go page by page to review the tax data, deductions, withholdings and the rest of the sections of the 2018 Income Statement. And, of course, present it.
