Pokémon GO Fest
For the third year in a row, Niantic will once again kick off Pokémon GO Fest this summer, a global event that takes place in parks across major cities on multiple days. The goal is to bring together the best Pokémon trainers from around the world, willing to get new parts and demonstrate their skills. Of course, the only way to participate is by paying an entry. It's not free.
From its official blog, Niantic has revealed that the first Pokémon GO Fest of this year will take place in Chicago from June 13 to 16. This will be followed by another in Dortmund (Germany) from July 4 to 7.They won't be the only ones. There will be more for the Asia-Pacific region, although the dates will be confirmed at a later time. In addition to the GO Fests, the developer has also announced the upcoming Safari Zone to capture new Pokémon in specific locations. This year the one in Porto Alegre, in Brazil, has already been held, and soon there will be another one in Sentosa, Singapore. However, during the second half of the year more Safari Zones will take place.
To all this we must add new dates for Community Day: May 19, June 8, July 21 and August 3. The closest will be on April 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Spain, starring Bagon, and which will allow us to get hold of a Salamence with a new movement. In addition, we will also get extra experience points, specifically 3 times more for each capture.
At the moment, and until next April 9 at 10:00 p.m., an event focused on bug-type Pokémon is taking place, that will allow us to catch Scyther, Yanma or Nincada, and other creatures thanks to research tasks.
The event-exclusive Field Research tasks are as follows:
- Catch 10 Bug-type Pokémon: Scyther
- Capture 2 Wurmple: Caterpie
- Capture 5 Ledyba or Spinarak: Yanma
- Catch 15 Bug-type Pokémon: 1500 Stardust
- Evolve 3 Bug-type Pokémon: Nincada
