How to use VLC player on Android Auto
Table of contents:
VLC is one of the most used multimedia content players on all platforms. This free free code player stands out for being compatible with the vast majority of multimedia file formats that we can find, from sound tracks to the latest video codecs generation.
This time we bring you good news, it has been updated with compatibility with Android Auto And the most curious thing is that it returns for the second time.Already in 2017 VLC was compatible with Android Auto but they were forced to remove this functionality for some unknown reason.
VLC supports Android Auto again
VLC version 3.1 now supports Android Auto and is available on Google Play, but in case you don't see it still the latest version you can download the APK from APK Mirror to have this feature as soon as possible.
If you have a car that supports Android Auto and your phone is synchronized, it will hardly cost you to use VLC:
- You'll find the VLC player in the music section of Android Auto (the headphone icon).
- When you open it, you'll see the “Songs” section, which will be displayed by default, with all the music you have stored on your device.
- By clicking on the upper left area on the three lines (Options menu) you can choose whether to put the list randomly, open a playlist or filter the songs you have by artists, albums, songs, or genres.
- On the main playback screen you can pause the current song, go back to the beginning, skip to the next song or enable random mode.
- If you click on the title of the song you will open VLC and you will be able to see the cover art in full screen.
One thing to note is that at this time it only works with music and audio files. It is currently not possible to play movies or videos in the background.
Enjoy VLC, undoubtedly one of the best players out there. The biggest problem is that at the moment it is not compatible with video, perhaps a compelling reason for you to continue using Spotify in Android Auto, a better option and that currently has many more options
