Dropbox now only allows 3 devices connected to the same account
Do you have a Dropbox account and do you usually use the service for free? It is possible then that you do not like the new measure that the company has taken. Dropbox will now allow free accounts to only link up to 3 devices. Therefore, the connection with an unlimited number of devices is finished,as it had been happening up to now.
The support pages of the service have already been updated with the new terms, which means that the change is already in effect as of this month. The limit to link devices will only apply to customers who use free Drobox storage That is, those users with Plus and Professional accounts will be able to link to their accounts an unlimited number of devices as they were doing to date.
All those users who use the 2 GB of free Dropbox space and need to pair a new device, will have to remove one already paired if they have three. It can be done from the Configuration section > Security > Devices to unlink one and add another. Of course, users who have had more than 3 devices connected for free before the month of March will be able to continue keeping those devices connected, even when they now exceed the new limit imposed by Dropbox.
With this decision, the company wants to promote the use of its payment accounts. Dropbox currently offers a basic subscription with 2 GB of free storage. It also has Plus and Professional plans with 1 TB and 2 TB of storage, respectively, for 10 and 20 euros per month. Therefore, it will be necessary to resort to these last two modalities in the case of needing to connect more than three devices to the same account at the same time.
