WhatsApp has celebrated its 10th anniversary this month and continues to be updated. The latest news we have in this regard has to do with the groups of the application, in a new update of the Beta version of WhatsApp, number 2.19.55. This has been confirmed by the Twitter account specializing in leaks of improvements to the instant messaging application.
New features of WhatsApp groups
This is a new invitation system for groups that we can send to our contacts on WhatsApp.This new feature is not yet available as the messaging app is working on it to add improvements and features before proceeding to enable it for everyone. This feature will be activated for everyone in the future and may be a long time coming as the messaging app wants to make sure everything stays tied up and tied up well, without failures, before finally launching it.
This same page had already announced a new invitation system for groups on iOS and now they are going to make the leap to develop it on Android. Presumably, this new feature will first appear in Apple's operating system. With this system of invitations to groups, the user will be able to choose who can add them to groups without their express permission. Currently, anyone can invite anyone to a WhatsApp group and, through this new function, it is intended to put an end to this somewhat invasive practice.
As seen in the screenshot above, the user could set a filter to allow, or prohibit, contacts from inviting them to groups. We can see it in the 'Groups' section. If we click inside this section we will have three different options, 'Everyone', 'My contacts' or 'No one' We hope that this new function can also filter by name contact because, perhaps, we are only interested in having our family or best friends add us to groups. Those who cannot add you directly to a group will be allowed to send you an invitation with a suggestion to join.
