Samsung redesigns its Galaxy Apps application store and is renamed Galaxy Store
Table of contents:
To be able to have applications on our mobile we have to go to the so-called repositories. The best known, surely, and the one we use every day, is Google's own, known as the Play Store. In the Google application store there are almost 4 million tools available for download, but it is not the only one where we can find those utilities that have changed our lives. We also have, for example, the Samsung application store that is pre-installed in all of the brand's terminals. Its name is Galaxy Apps… or rather it was, because now it is going to undergo a radical change.
Goodbye Galaxy Apps, hello Galaxy Store
Samsung's app store, formerly known as Galaxy Apps, is now renamed Galaxy Store, closer to the Play Store, for example. In addition, with the name change you can also see a renewal of its design, changes that were already announced during the celebration of the Samsung Developers Conference in 2018.
The new Samsung store adapts its design lines to the new face offered by its Galaxy UI user interface that runs under the Android 9 Pie operating system. It is not a very noticeable change, but it is enough so that Samsung's application ecosystem now has a cohesive design with other elements of the brand.
For now, the store continues to offer the usual, that is, applications and tools specially adapted to the Samsung terminals that we own. It was rumored that, perhaps, in the future, the user could purchase, through this repository, different articles of the brand, but for now it is still an application store to use.
Now the app, according to early adopters, is much easier to use and has a rounded design that makes it easier on the eyes. The lower bar, as we see in the previous screenshot, is dedicated to the different sections of the store, such as the applications screen, games, our own ecosystem of applications and tools for the smartwatch.
This new version is being implemented little by little in those terminals with Android 9 Pie. This new version will surely come pre-installed in the future and expected Samsung Galaxy S10.
