The Google Assistant has many possibilities. An example is Google Assistant Routines. This option allows us to configure different actions so that the Google Assistant does them automatically, through a command or option. These routines reach the alarms. This way you can configure it so that every time you turn off your mobile alarm, the Assistant starts the routines.
Before we begin to explain how we can create alarms with Google Assistant routines, it is important to know what these routines are.An easy way to understand it is with an example. We can make the Google Assistant turn on the light, read us the news and tell us what the weather is like by setting up a routine called 'Good morning'.In this way, every time we say 'Ok Google, good morning' the Assistant will perform the actions automatically. These routines can be configured in the wizard settings. We can even create several.
The inclusion of this option in the alarms is nothing more than a quick way to profile the Google Assistant the commands. In this way, when we turn off the alarm, the Assistant will begin to carry out the actions. To configure it, it will first be necessary to download the app 'Google Clock'. This application can be downloaded for free on Google Play, although it is already installed on some devices by default. Once installed, create an alarm. You will see that on the card there is an option that says 'Google Assistant Routine'If we press it, it will give us a brief introduction.
Afterwards, we can create a routine with some options that Google offers us. In my case, it's these.
- Adjust media volume
- Adjust lights, plugs and other options
- Set Thermostat
- Configure environments
- Report weather
- Report my commute to work
- Inform me about the day's calendar
- Read me reminders for today
- Turn off silent mode
Here you can select the option you want. For example, if you have a smart lamp or bulb, and you want to turn it on after turning off the alarm, click on the option that says 'adjust lights, plugs and other options'. In the gear icon you can select which light you want to turn on. Do the same with the other options. If you want, you can also change the order in which the Wizard will carry out the configurations. For example, if you want me to report the weather first, click the 'change order' button and drag the option higher. We can also ask Google to read us the news after all actions.
Turn off the alarm for the assistant to start the routine
When we have configured our alarm routine, we just have to click on the 'V' at the top. Then, click on the 'Allow' option. The routine will be saved and we will be able to see the icon illuminated in the alarm option.
Now, every time the alarm sounds and we turn it off, the Assistant will start performing the different actionsAll this without the need to unlock the device. It is undoubtedly a very interesting option, although I think it lacks some visual on the screen, where we can see animations or even weather widgets or reminders.
There's no question that Google is bringing the Google Assistant to all of its services and apps. Which app will be next?
