Netflix has begun enabling smart auto-downloads in its iPhone app. It was already available on Android for a while. This function consists of Netflix automatically downloading the following episodes of a series when we are connected to Wi-Fi. In this way, we will not have to be downloading the chapter. Of course, self-downloads have their downside. For example, we may not want to download another episode simply because we are out of storage. Does it happen to you and you want to deactivate auto-downloads? Here we will tell you how you can do it on iOS and Android.
To deactivate auto-downloads on Android: first, go to the Netflix app on your device and click on the 'plus' icon that appears in the lower right corner. Select your profile and click on the ‘application settings’ option. Then, go to the download section and deactivate the 'auto-downloads' option. This way the following episodes will no longer be downloaded automatically, but you will have to download them manually . An important fact, if you use other devices you will also have to deactivate the option through the account settings. These changes are made to the device only, and not to the account in general. In addition, it also applies only to the user.
How to disable the option in iOS
On iPhone the configuration is similar: go to the application, click on the 'more' button and enter 'application settings'.Then, go to the download section and deactivate the auto-download option. This option may not appear yet, as Netflix has recently added it to the iOS device app. If so, Check that you have the latest version in the App Store Update and then follow the steps. Here, again, you will have to configure it on each device, since the change is only done in the terminal.
If you want to reactivate auto-downloads just go to the settings and check the option again. When you go to download a chapter of a series, the automatic download will be activated.
