Gmail, Google's email service, has received a new update. The company adapts the platform to Material Teming, the new style that came with Android 9.0 Pie and that some applications already enjoy, such as Photos, Messages or Calendar. The new Gmail has lighter colors, new accessible menus, and different customization options. We tell you about the changes that the tablet and mobile platform is undergoing and how you can apply it now.
The main change in the new version of Gmail is the design. The red color so characteristic of the app has been removed and replaced by white finishes and pastel tones, much more minimalist. We continue with a floating button at the bottom that will help us to compose a new message. This one also changes design. In addition, the lower menu is more organized and with a new typography. Another interesting detail is that we can access the other accounts that we have synchronized without having to go to the menu. We can click on the icon in the upper zone. Gmail has also added three display options in inboxes. A detailed one, where it shows the information of the attached files. Another 'comfortable', which only shows the images and email information and a 'compact' view, where the image does not appear, only the sender and the subject of the email. Finally, now the service will notify us by means of an alert if the mail is fraudulent.
How to receive the new Gmail design now
Google has announced that this new design will reach all Gmail users on iOS and Android in the coming weeks It will be through an update of the app that has already started rolling out to all users, but it might take a while. If you don't want to wait, you can download the latest version from APK Mirror for Android and install it as if it were a third-party application. Remember to accept unknown origins on your mobile. Finally, you will only have to install the new version by following the steps indicated on your mobile. Gmail will automatically change the layout. At the moment I have not found any option to 'return to the previous design'.
