5 lightweight browsers to try on your Android mobile
Table of contents:
What would our mobiles be without their corresponding Internet browser? It is, without a doubt, one of the most used applications. Through the browser is how we access the Internet and all the information possible online. And one of the most used, surely because it comes pre-installed in many Android terminals, is the Google Chrome browser. It is a very complete browser but it requires a lot from the terminal's processor. What can we do, then, if we have an entry-level mobile and we want to be able to navigate without hindrances, slowdowns or blockages? Well, we will have to download a light browser.
To all those who do not have a high-end mobile, today's special is dedicated. We propose five lightweight and current browsers that continue to be updated regularly, free of charge, and that offer an effective and simple user experience.
Mint Browser
This web browser has been developed by the Xiaomi company, undoubtedly to support all its entry-level mobiles, which from now on will be included under the Redmi brand itself. In fact, it is the default browser of some of its terminals such as the Xiaomi Redmi 4x. It is free, without ads and its download file has a weight of only 11 MB so you can download it whenever you want without having to be connected to WiFi.
On the main screen we find a series of shortcuts that are the favorites offered by the browser. If you hold down one of the icons you can delete it and rearrange them. You can also add the accesses you want by pressing the 'Add' button. Among the most outstanding functions of this browser is the default ad blocker and a night mode with which we will darken the screen so as not to disturb whoever sleeps with we. In the settings we can also modify the text size of the web pages.
Opera Mini Browser
Opera Mini is a browser with a good rate of updates, it is free although it has ads and its download file has a weight of 8 MB. The first thing we should do as soon as we open the browser for the first time is choose the language. Once done, we accept the conditions of the browser and you will be asked if you want personalized when you browse the different web pages. With the formalities done, let's see what this lightweight Android browser has to offer.
This browser is quite peculiar because the main screen is made up of several, separated by tabs. In the first we can find what the browser calls 'top stories', that is, the most important news of the day of various topics. If we slide to the left we will see more tabs like 'Entertainment' and 'Sports'. We can customize this screen by clicking on the '+' icon. We also have data saving, blocker and night mode.
Browser Via
This browser offers one of the lightest experiences we've found in the Google Play store. Its download file weighs only 888 KB, so it does not even reach 1 MB in weight. It does not contain ads and is completely free. For the browser to work correctly you have to give storage and location permissions.
The browser is one hundred percent minimalist. As soon as we open it, all we have is a blank screen with the browser logo and a search bar. If we press the menu we already find more settings, such as a practical night mode, bookmarks and history, download window, incognito mode, etc. It is a very fast and effective browser that will satisfy the needs of those who have a very basic mobile. Highly recommended.
Pure Web Browser
With this browser we will also take up very little space on the mobile since its download file barely reaches 3 MB. Its name is Pure Web Browser and it is free and has no ads of any kind inside. There are two permissions that you have to accept so that you can navigate with Pure Web, storage content and location. Its presentation interface is quite similar to the Mint browser. We have different shortcuts that we can eliminate or regroup while adding new ones. On this screen, as we navigate, it will offer us access to the pages we visit the most, automatically.
In the settings we have different possibilities such as that of a website only offering text, thus saving data. You also have a login to take screenshots, night mode and ad blocker enabled by default.
Monument Browser
And we end our tour of lightweight Android browsers with Monument Browser, a free application, with ads and whose installation file has a weight of 1.6 MB. For it to work, we will have to grant it the storage permissions. Its main screen consists of different shortcuts, in a fairly pronounced size and a simple search bar.
If we hold down one of the shortcuts we will access a variety of functions that distinguish this browser from others. For example, we can open a page in Picture in Picture mode, by clicking on 'popup'. We can also create a shortcut icon for a page to place it on the desktop and thus have a web page as if it were another application. Among the different shortcuts that we can find is 'Care Cards', motivational cards' or 'Radiolise', to be able to listen to your favorite stations. Of course, we can open the incognito mode or hide the notification bar for full screen mode.
