Google Maps changes appearance once again
The transformation of Google Maps into a tool that goes beyond telling you how to get from point A to point B continues on its way. Now it is the turn of the application search screen, in an update that you will not find in the Google store but will be activated automatically in the same tools. There are some users who can already enjoy this new Google Maps search screen and different media have already picked it up.
On the new Google Maps search screen we can now see more eye-catching, colorful and rounded icons, more appropriate to the new version of Material Design that we are seeing little by little, and that includes a dark mode in all Google applications ( although, at the moment, only a few have it). The places that you have saved on the map and appear in your searches, with the new screen interface, will now appear properly marked. In the screenshot below you can see what the new search interface screen looks like in Google Maps.
In some street searches, icons corresponding to the bus stops on the street will also appear. We have verified that in some streets they appear and in others they do not. This may be because there are users who have located the bus stops as 'Bus station' and Google Maps identifies it as 'site'.If we search for a site and we have added it to our favorites list, it will appear with a big heart as an icon.
You can see if you have updated the application by completing a search in it. Do not look if you have new version in Google Maps, since it is an internal update through Google's own servers. Among the latest innovations that we can find in Google Maps is the maximum speed signaling on the roads when we navigate with your GPS and the alert of Traffic cameras while you are driving.
