Can you imagine an alternate reality where you could block singers or groups from Spotify? Yes, those that you hate to listen to, but that the application insists on playing over and over again when you activate a playlist or the radio of a song. It seems that our wishes will come true very soon. The service is reportedly testing a feature that would give the ability to block artists and mute them. In fact, some iOS users can already turn it on.

So far, the only way we have to avoid the music of Rosalía, Maluma or Luis Fonsi is by going from one song to the next.There is no option to kick these singers out of our app once and for all. With the new function that Spotify is testing they would be automatically blocked with just one click, banishing them forever from our ears,at least when opening the app in our mobile.

To access this new feature, it would be necessary to click on the “…” menu on the page of the artist that we would like to stop playing on Spotify. Once this menu is open, you should select the option “Do not play this artist” so that their songs will stop being displayed in the app until you decide otherwise. In fact, it would not be possible to manually play music from singers or groups that we had previously blocked, unless we unblocked them again within the application's settings.

For now, this option has reached a few lucky ones who use Spotify on iOS. We are completely unaware if the company plans to open the season to other users, both iOS and Android.
