Google Chrome add-ons are extensions that provide the computer's browser with additional functions to enrich our user experience. We have extensions to take screenshots, language translators, ad blockers, plug-ins so that cookie alerts don't bother us anymore... If you want to do something with your browser and its own system doesn't allow it, try looking for the corresponding extension. I'm sure it exists.
But of course, now we have a problem. It would be great to be able to use these Google Chrome plugins on your Android mobile browser. But the plugins are not compatible with Google Chrome for mobile. What can we do then? Well, use another browser that does allow the inclusion of these accessories. This browser is called Yandex Browser.
Installing Chrome add-ons on mobile
Yandex Browser is a Russian browser that has a very good rating in the Google Play app store. The browser contains ads, is free, and its installation file is 50 MB in size. Yandex Browser is the most used browser in Russia and the fourth most used browser in the world. It is developed by the largest Russian technology company.
Once you have downloaded and installed it, we are going to proceed to install our first add-ons. We will tell you how to do it below.
First, let's go, through Yandex Browser, to the plug-ins page of the Google Chrome Web Store. On this page you can find the desired plugin and be able to use it through this browser. When we have located the plugin, we will go to the 'Add to Chrome' button that we see at the top of the screen. At that moment, the add-on will begin to download (we will have previously given our permission) and if everything has gone well, it will be installed in our browser. If the add-on is not compatible with Yandex Browser, the browser lets us know with a warning on the screen.
Then the add-ons can be found in the menu of the application itself. At the bottom we have the application settings menu, made up of three vertical points. On the next screen we are going to go to the 'Extensions' section and this is where we will see all the ones we have installed. In addition, we have direct access to all the extensions that we have installed in the browser by default, such as a password manager, the 'Pocket' application to save websites and read them later or the 'Evernote' notes application. Here we can also activate and deactivate the complements.
Is Yandex Browser worth it?
In addition to being able to use Google Chrome plugins, Yandex Browser has its own ad blocker pre-installed so you can browse without being interrupted. We can access the ad blocker through the settings menu screen. In addition, in settings, we also have a power saving mode, a turbo mode to reduce data consumption by loading web pages faster and many other settings. In this way, Yandex Browser becomes a good alternative to Google Chrome, especially if you are tired of always using the same browser.
