Yesterday we told you that a new platform had been born, Synchronized, designed for those women who want to go running, but don't want to do it alone , but accompanied by other women like them. It is a way to socialize, yes, but also to feel more secure. Because nine out of ten women say they feel scared when they go running alone. And is not for less.
Today we have to take a look at a new application, which is like a kind of panic button and is called NiUnaMenos.Laura Luelmo, murdered at the hands of her neighbor, told her boyfriend that the presence and gaze of that man made her feel uncomfortable. Maybe having a panic button that helps us report quickly situations of mistrust, harassment or violence can help.
The tool allows users to send an alert to a trusted person (family, friends, neighbors...) who can help them in an emergency. By pressing the panic button, the application sends an alert via SMS to those people, indicating that something is happening and the exact location of the person.
Takes up little space and may very well save lives. We tell you how it works and help you set it up quickly.
How to install and configure NotOneLess
The first thing you have to do is install the application. You have it available in the official Android store. It weighs very little, so you will have it downloaded in just a few seconds. From there, you can start configuring it.
1. Open the app. What the system will ask you to do is to select the trusted contacts to whom the emergency alerts will be sent. You can select them from the phonebook or insert them manually. Press the Next button.
2. Enter the phone number or tap the phone icon to open your contact book. Next, write your name and a description. Then click on the Add contact button. Repeat this procedure to add more contacts, clicking on the Add contact button. When you're done, choose Next.
3. Remember that for the system to correctly detect the point where you are, you must have location activated on your phone. Otherwise, you can't be located at a point on the map and with precise coordinates.
Send an alert with NiUnaMenos
In principle, to send the alert it is not necessary to unlock the phone. Simply press the physical start button several times until the mobile begins to vibrate, an unequivocal sign that the alert is being sent to your contacts.
If you manage to unlock the phone – calm should be with you, in any case – you will see that the application can remain running, always on background, so that it is easier for you to start it.Once inside. Hit the central Alert button. The device will vibrate and within five seconds a message will be sent to the indicated contacts.
On the same home screen you will see what your coordinates are, an option that will allow you to check at any time that the system works. And this is exactly what your contacts will receive, who will be able to locate you in no time and, if necessary, notify the police of the emergency with that information.
The Protest Mode of NiUnaMenos
An interesting feature of this application is the Protest Mode, designed to be used in mass protest demonstrations. When activated (you just have to press the banner that can be seen below and that says PROTEST MODE) the screen will begin to blink, vibrate and emit a sound
