Wapo disappears from the Google Play Store
Table of contents:
Applications to flirt are the order of the day worldwide. And if not, tell Tinder, or the homosexual version of it: Grindr. But they must fight a few problems to survive. On the one hand, the reluctance of old school or more classic lovers to flirt in these ways, providing excuses such as that "only weirdos use them". And on the other hand facing laws from other times and mentalities that even prohibit them or jeopardize the integrity of their users.Something that Wapo now has to deal with.
This is another dating app for gay people. A tool that has its cousin sister for lesbians: Wapa. And it has just been eliminated from the Google Play Store worldwide Its own managers have given the notice through their official Twitter account and also through the application. In a message they accuse Google Malaysia of giving the order to delete the application that has had an impact on the official Android application stores around the world. The result? No new user can find and download the application from the most consulted and used source to install these tools. The reason? Not yet clear.
According to those responsible for Wapo, the problem arises because Google Malaysia has found a photograph in underwear in one of the profiles of the application to flirtSomething very common, at least in countries like Spain where seeing naked torsos and suggestive photographs is not strange, but neither is it the only option. Being homosexual in Malaysia is punishable by Malaysian law, so the photo in his underpants would have been enough of a trigger to report the application and end up deleting it from the Google Play Store.
In the same message from Wapo it is stated that they will will fight to reinstate the application in the Google Play Store, although without yet knowing if it will be possible. Users are also urged to comment on any type of problem they experience in its use via email. Although the app will continue to work for those who have it installed, those who uninstalled it will not be able to find it in the Google Play Store. That is why they recommend not removing it completely from the mobile if you want to use it at some other time given the uncertainty of what will happen in the future.
Wapo has been removed by Google Play and can no longer be downloaded because the Google Malaysia team has seen a photo of a man in his underwear. Oh really. In Malaysia, being gay is a crime. Coincidence? We will not remain with our arms crossed

At the moment the official version of Google Malaysia is unknown. We have contacted Google Spain to try to find out more details about it, and we will update this information as soon as we know something official.
How to download Wapo on your Android mobile
If you are one of those who have uninstalled the application and want to use it again, you can avoid this expulsion from the Google Play Store quite easily. Of course, only if you have a mobile phone with the operating system Android.
Just go to Wapo's website to find their message and direct links to download the .apk file. This file is the application itself, which you can install on your Android mobile without too many problems. Accept the download from your browser and then click on the notice to install the package
The only difficulty is that you must activate the Unknown Sources function of your mobile. The process is guided and it is a permission that you must activate if you want to install applications from outside the Google Play Store. It is a way of taking responsibility for bypassing the protections offered by Google in its official store.
Once you activate this function the installation is carried out automatically. Thus, after a few seconds you will see that the Wapo icon is available again among the rest of your mobile applications The service is still active, so you can create a new account or recover the one you already had if you keep your credentials.
