WhatsApp puts new expiration dates on old mobiles
Table of contents:
Do you use WhatsApp on an old mobile? It will probably stop working soon. The most popular messaging app often drops the app on many of the most outdated devices or limits the app's features. Facebook has updated the WhatsApp expiration date on some old phones. We will tell you below eon which devices WhatsApp will stop working.
The devices I show below will be able to continue using WhatsApp until their expiration date, but you can no longer create a new account. Therefore, if you delete the application or try to change the number you will not be able to use the service.
- On the Nokia S40 WhatsApp will stop working from December 31. If you still have this device it is better to start 2019 with a more current smartphone.
- On Android, WhatsApp will stop working on all mobile phones with Android version 2.3.7 or earlier from February 1, 2020.
- In the case of iPhone, WhatsApp will stop working on those phones that have iOS 7 or earlier as of February 1, 2020 , just like Android. Fortunately, many of Apple's devices update to the latest version.
Which phones are compatible with WhatsApp
The messaging application has a large number of compatible devices. On Android, all those phones that have Android 4.0 or higher will be able to run WhatsApp without any problem. In the case of iPhone, all phones with iOS 8 or higher. It is also available for other devices that do not have the Google or Apple operating system. For example, mobiles that have Windows Phone 8.1 or higher, the JiPhone and JiPhone 2.
It is likely that WhatsApp will update the list later by adding other devices on which the application will stop working. At the moment, and at least for older iPhone and Android users, they have until 2020 to search for a new device.
