Table of contents:
Niantic has already dropped the big bomb. Perhaps the function that renews Pokémon GO from top to bottom and gives it a boost among amateur players and those who kept the game collecting dust on their mobile phones. The battles between trainers are here Of course, it seems that things will not be the same as in the classic games on Nintendo video consoles. And it is that, so that any type of trainer can fight, Niantic has had to propose a new system. This is all we know as of the publication date of this article.
What it will be like: rumors
At the moment Niantic has revealed little information about what the game experience will be like But several YouTube videos and some sources already rumor various concepts . First of all, they talk about the need to be present in the same place and be friends. That is, the criteria necessary to carry out an exchange are repeated.
For now these are just rumors, but apparently you would have to stand nearby and have exchanged trainer codes to start a battle. In this way the fight would begin on a pitch for two trainers and to face three creatures And yes, this information is practically confirmed with the images that have been shared on the official Pokémon GO account on Twitter. No teams of six Pokémon like in the classic games.
It is also unknown if the Pokémon will gain moves for combat or keep the two attacks seen in Pokémon GO. That is, one normal and one loaded. We will have to wait for more details.

Battle Leagues
What is known is that the battles will take place around three leagues of trainer battles in Pokémon GO. Specifically the Great League, Ultra League, and Master League A way to assign CP (combat point) limits to the Pokémon that participate in them so that any trainer can can participate. And that is the intention of Niantic according to his own words. “We wanted to create an experience that everyone can enjoy and ensure that the different types of Pokémon can show their strengths. With Leagues in Trainer Battles we hope to create a system that is accessible to many Trainers.”
Here's a breakdown of each Battle League's requirements: ? Great League: 1,500 CP limit per Pokémon? Ultra League: 2,500 CP limit per Pokémon? Master League: No CP limit per Pokémon pic.twitter.com/qF7f3KDco5

- The Great League has a limit of 1,200 CP per Pokémon That is, no Pokémon from any of your teams can exceed that amount or you will be limited to 1,200 points. It is the most accessible for any trainer since it is not difficult to find a Pokémon that reaches this figure.
- The Ultra League places the limit at 2,500 CP per Pokémon. It is more demanding and the Pokémon have a higher level. Of course, having a limit also means equalizing things, so developing good technique is paramount.
- The Master League has no CP limit for any Pokémon. That is, here you play with fewer rules. The power of the Pokémon in combat will be the main key. Without limitations or equality. The strongest win.
The idea is to give trainers, whatever their level and that of their Pokémon, have different levels in which to participate. More technical, if the conditions are the same for all. Or more powerful if there is no limit to contribute any being to the battle. Of course, at the moment it is unknown if the two friends and Pokémon trainers have to agree to specify the league in which they want to participate before entering battle.
New Team Tab
Thanks to the screenshots shared on the official Pokémon GO account on Twitter, we have been able to see additional details of the battles between trainers. As we said, in these battles the teams will only have three Pokémon. The good thing is that we can create these teams beforehand, developing well-thought-out strategies, calmly, to later participate in battles.
The tab will appear next to the list of Pokémon and Eggs. You will have to move to the left to create the different teams of three Pokémon and give them a name. In this way it will be faster and more comfortable to choose these beings to fight.
