How to change the portrait effect of your iPhone photos in Google Photos
The Google Photos app continues to be perfected for iOS. The latest update now allows you to edit the depth of field in those shots taken with an iPhone. This is an addition that is not bad for those of you who use this app because you have unlimited space. However, it was already available in the official Camera application or in third-party apps such as Focos.
If you already have the latest version of Google Photos for iOS, but still can't see this feature, don't worry, it's a matter of time before you start enjoying it.It is gradually reaching all users who have the app installed on their iPhone. To edit depth of field on portraits and play with blur, you will need to see the "Depth" feature found in the edit section within any uploaded image to Google Photos. It appears just below “light” and “Color”. Once you click on "Depth" you will have the option to play with the front blur whenever you want, and select the preferred area of focus for the shots.
By touching the photo you can choose which plane you want to be in focus, the first or the background. With the sliders at the bottom, you can adjust the level of blur, both in the background and in the foreground. In addition to the ability to adjust blur, Google has added a "Color Pop" effect within the Google Photos app for iOS.With this function we can take more artistic photos. We can make an area of the foreground appear colored or that the background is in black and white.
To apply this effect, the process is very similar. Just open the Google Photos app and choose an image captured in Portrait mode. Once open, it is necessary to click on the edit icon (located in the center) so that the different effects appear. Choose the first one (Color Pop) and touch the area of the image where you want to keep the color. Once you have the photo with a white background and black it is possible to access the depth settings. So you can play with the depths, further customizing the effect achieved.
