How to switch to night mode manually in Google Maps for Android
It seems that the message of the different developers and the requests of many users is gradually permeating. And it is that there are those who like a dark environment on their mobile to suffer less with the vision, or to arouse fewer other people's glances. Be that as it may, there are more and more tools with options to change your usual white background for a black or dark one Google Maps did it automatically until now to be pleasing to the eye when we enter a tunnel or if we drive at night.Well, now Google allows you to adjust it manually.
To do this we just have to get hold of the latest version of Google Maps on our Android mobile. This is version 10.2, which has already started appearing on the Google Play Store for everyone. Once downloaded, we just have to display the side menu and access the Settings menu. Don't be scared if you come across a new list, organized in a different way and with a much cleaner and simpler design. This means that the latest version, with its new features, is now available on your mobile.
In this list you must move to the Navigation Settings submenu, where many of the options available when we use Google Maps as GPS are found. Going down this section we find the Map display section. This is where we can modify the color scheme that is usually displayed automatically in the application depending on the time of day or depending on whether we are driving outside or through tunnels. There are three options: automatic allows you to continue with the change according to the situation and time, with the application deciding. The Day option maintains the light scheme. For its part, Night changes the application to dark mode. In these last two cases the decision is manual, and is maintained according to what we choose.
This way we manually control the visual aspect of the Google maps tool, in case we don't want it to change. Either because we find the night mode more comfortable so as not to be so distracted Or because we prefer to always keep the Day mode so that the changes do not mislead us while we are behind the wheel. The point is that, since the last update, it is possible to handle it at will to satisfy any need.
