The most popular messaging application of the moment does not stop receiving news. Undoubtedly, the one that has caught our attention the most is the inclusion of a dark mode in the application, something that many manufacturers are already doing, but the latest WhatsApp news continues to appear. WABetaInfo, an unofficial blog specialized in WhatsApp, has revealed that will soon be compatible with fingerprints or facial recognition.
After an update it has been possible to find signs of support for Face ID and Touch ID. At the moment, it seems that only for iOS, but it could also come to Android. This option is under development, so you probably won't even see it in your app's settings. Even so, WABetaInfo has provided some screenshots, where you can see that, depending on the device, it will allow you to activate Face ID or Touch ID. So that? Of course, to add extra protection to the application, but the most interesting thing is that we can activate it so that every time we enter WhatsApp, it asks us for our fingerprintIn this way, we can leave the mobile device with a friend or family member and they can only enter the app if you unlock access.
And if it doesn't recognize our fingerprint or face?
In the event that your fingerprint or face is not detected, the application will ask for the access code established on our mobile device. Finally, it is important to mention that it will be available for all iPhone devices that have iOS 8 or higher and Touch ID, or for the iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max and Xr with Face ID. The function is in alpha phase, so if you have the WhatsApp beta you will not yet find it in the settings. As we mentioned, it is likely that it will also reach Android soon, although it could take longer due to the wide catalog of devices.
What do you think of this new WhatsApp option?
