So you can save data while using Twitter on your mobile

Twitter already has a new data saving mode that is released in an update. This new feature will help users to have greater control over consumption. We tell you how it works and how you can activate it.

Save data with Twitter

Getting the Twitter application to help us saving data will be a breeze from now on. If you want to start saving, we recommend you follow these steps:

1. First and foremost, update the Twitter app. The data package containing this improvement is already reaching users, so all you have to do is go to the Google Play Store to activate the update as soon as possible.

2. Then open Twitter and go to Settings & Privacy > Data Usage. You will find this option by clicking on your user icon, located in the upper left corner of the screen.

3. Within this section, you will find different options that will serve you data. The one that Twitter has just released is the Data saver When activated (just click on the box to select the option), the videos will not play automatically and the images will load, but in a lower quality. In this way, you will be able to automatically reduce the data usage made by the application.

Once you have activated this option, you will not have to do anything else. The saving system will work by default, although you can always deactivate it when you consider it. Simply retrace your steps to this same space and disable Data Saver.

Other options available to save data on Twitter

If you are not interested in this option, because you like to see how the videos play automatically or you want to see the images in high quality, nothing happens. You have three more options that you can activate to alleviate data consumption They are in this same section and cannot be used together with the data saver, because they are incompatible:

• Images. You can choose when to upload high-quality images by selecting the Wi-Fi Only or Never option. This way, you won't lose any data.
• Videos. Same thing. You can select if you want to play them with Data, only with WiFi or Never. You can also choose whether or not you want to improve the quality of the videos depending on the connection you have. Or just watch the videos in low quality.
• Background data synchronization. You can keep it on all the time or choose the synchronization time (between 5 minutes and 4 hours ). You also have the option to choose Daily.

As you can see, you have several options and they can all be activated at the same time (except Data Saver, which works separately) and can also be reversed.
