YouTube is updated to be able to watch videos in HDR on the iPhone XS
Table of contents:
Do you have an iPhone Xs? Good news, the YouTube app has received a major update for these devices. In case you didn't know, the new iPhone Xs and XS Max have a screen with HDR technology, we can play different content in this mode and in apps like Netflix. Until now, YouTube didn't let you play those videos in HDR with the new iPhone, but an update brings this support.
This novelty comes through an update of the app in the App Store. Specifically, it is version 13.37. While it does not incorporate the inclusion of HDR in the patch notes, it can be applied in the video settings. To see the content in HDR you just have to click on the drop-down menu in the upper area of the video. Then, select the quality option and click on the resolution you prefer, as long as it has HDR. It is important to mention that to play content in high dynamic range it will be necessary to have a compatible video on the platform. For this, we can search for HDR on YouTube and different content will appear.
iPhone Xs and XS Max, two terminals with large screens
Of course, you will not be able to watch videos in resolutions higher than 1980p, since Google does not support it.Therefore, we will have to settle for Full HD and HDR resolution, which is more than enough for a mobile device. We remind you that the iPhone Xs has a 5.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2,436 x 1,125, OLED technology with Super Retina display and 458 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Xs Max model has a 6.5-inch panel, a resolution of 2,688 x 1,242 pixels, an OLED panel and Super Retina. Again, 458 pixels per inch.
