How to organize events with multiple people in Google Calendar
Google Calendar provides an excellent service when it comes to organizing our entire schedule, whether professional or personal, with room and notifications for all types of appointments or events. When it comes to synchronizing it also complies perfectly and as a calendar it borders on perfection. Of course, there are people who still seem to be unclear how to organize their appointments when it comes to doing it with several contacts at the same time. And it is that while not being excessively difficult, it is not one of the easiest options to configure in this wonderful app.We review how and some more tips.
We can organize events with a group of people, whether they are friends or contacts from a social network, sharing a calendar or an invitation to an event or a list of group members.
Share a Google Calendar with your group
It also allows us to share a calendar with our group or create a calendar that several people can edit. Thus, each member of the group can modify it as plans or events change. This can be useful if we want meetings or events to appear on a calendar that the whole group participates in.
How to share a calendar in Google Calendar
We invite a Google group to an event with Google Calendar. We can add an entire group to an event using Google Calendar.
Using Google Calendar, we first create an event like this: When editing the event options, in the "Add Guests" box, we type the name of the event or appointment to which we want to invite the group. After adding all the participants, to see the list of members, to the left of the group name, click the down arrow Down arrow. Click Save.
Export a list of names and email addresses
We can download a file with a list of our group members and their email addresses to a CSV file. We can also upload the list into a spreadsheet to manage group members, count members, or organize smaller subgroups within your group.
To do this, we log in to Google Groups. We click on My groups. We choose a group. Near the top right corner, we click Manage. Finally, at the top, we click Export members again.
Family Calendar
How does the family calendar work?
When we create a family in Google, a calendar called “Family” is automatically created. Anyone who joins our family will see the family calendar when they open Google Calendar on any device we're signed in to.
Anyone in the family can view, create, edit, or delete events on the family calendar. Anyone in the family can edit the name of the calendar, or we can add non-family members to the family calendar, but it does allow us to invite them to events.
Note: If someone leaves or leaves the family group, she will lose access to the family calendar. If the family manager deletes the family group, the family calendar and all its events will be deleted.
Create an event on the family calendar
Open Google Calendar. In the lower right corner, click on Create Event and Add. In the “Calendar” section, we use the dropdown menu to select the name of our family calendar. There we add a title and some details of the event. If we want, we can invite people who are not family members to join our event. Then we click Save.
Change notification settings for the family calendar
By default, we will receive the same notifications for upcoming events as for our main calendar. However, we will not receive notifications when a family member creates, edits or deletes an event.
To change notification settings for upcoming events:
We enter Google Calendar, on the left side of the page, we look for the “My calendars” section. There we scroll down the name of our family calendar and then click on Options>More. We click Settings again and choose a new notification setting. Changes are automatically saved.
