The Android Messages App could be integrated with the Google Assistant
Table of contents:
The Android Messages app is one of many that Google sets as the default on most Android devices. It is on Google Play and is easily downloadable. Even when you already have another SMS application you can replace it with Android Messages. Of course, it is not an app that receives many functions, just some changes in the design that later ended up disappearing. But it seems that Google has an idea to get more out of it benefit from the application.Which? That of integrating the Google Assistant.
According to the XDA Developers website, Google is testing an integration with the Google Assistant in order to improve the user experience More or At least it would have a mechanic similar to Allo, that is, having the assistant inside the app for any query. In this case, we would not have a conversation just for Google Assistant, but we would have to mention it. In addition, Google did not show much information, just restaurant recommendations, weather and small queries.
A possible very shortened integration
Although it is true that integration is always good, many functions are missing, especially focused on messages, such as, for example, ask Google to answer one automatically.
Of course, this is a test that Google is doing, so more functions could be included soon. There is also the possibility that Google does not integrate both services for any other reason. Even so, and according to what we see, there is no doubt that the American company wants to make the Messages app a Google Allo. Messages recently received support for the web version and intelligent responses, something already seen in Allo.
We've already noticed that Google likes to merge their services. A good try is Duo, the video calling app with the phone app or Gmail with Google Drive. We will be attentive to more news about this possible merger.
