Facebook could launch its own karaoke-style talent show
Can you imagine humming a current song with a Facebook friend in front of their mobile to see who can do it better? Well, maybe you don't need to imagine too much. And it is that Facebook continues to hunt the young public that escapes so much by copying some of the applications that it usually uses. If you've already released a feature to create playback or lip sync videos, now it looks like you're working on a Talent Show or karaoke-like talent show. Will it be too much?
At the moment we are only anticipating a reality that could be in the future. And it is that, for now, only code that refers to this possible new function has been discovered. The researcher Jane Manchun Wong is the one who found these lines in the latest version of the Facebook application. In them appear the words "Talent Show" or talent program, and two references to auditions and stage. But the researcher has not stopped there and, through her Twitter account, she has published some images of the possible interface of this new karaoke function.
Facebook is working on Talent Show where users can pick a popular song and submit their singing audition for review.
Feels like a cross between Musically and Fifteen Million Merits from Black Mirror

Apparently the function would be integrated into the application of the social network. Thus, within Facebook we would find the possibility to record ourselves on video singing To do this, we would have to choose from a list of famous and current songs to play through the headset. After recording ourselves singing the song, it would only be necessary to review and publish. We do not know, for the moment, if this content will be visible to everyone or only to those who use this function within Facebook. It is also not known if there will be confrontations between users or duets.
Without a doubt, Facebook has an eye on Musical.ly and on Smule. The first is an application to create videos with playback and all kinds of effects. The second, more similar to the function in which the social network works, consists of recording yourself singing a song as karaoke. The interesting thing about Smule is that there are artists who sing their own famous songs, allowing users to sing a duet with it.
Neither should we forget the Talent Show concept discovered in the lines of code. Something that makes us imagine that either it is the name of the song or it could be some kind of function-program. Sort of like the karaoke version of HQ Trivia.
For now we just have to wait for Facebook to confirm this new tool. Or maybe it's just internal evidence that has been brought to light prematurely by the researcher who stumbled upon it.
