How to Save Gmail Files Directly to Dropbox
In the new version and design of Gmail, downloading plugins and accessories to enrich the experience is very simple. We just have to open, on a computer, the Gmail page and add any add-on that you have available, as we already do with Chrome plug-ins. Now, Dropbox is the company that has launched its own plugin for Gmail. Thus, the user thus has the possibility of saving any attachment that he has in an email, in his Dropbox account. It is also available on Android and, very soon, it will be available on all iPhones.Do you want to know how it works? Keep reading!
The first thing we have to do is go to our Gmail account on your personal computer. Now, look at the right sidebar, which is where you have all the plugins added to your account. By default we can find, for example, the Google calendar. A shortcut to avoid having to go to the application and see our agenda, being able to organize our day to day from the Gmail account. See the '+' sign? Well press it. On the next screen you will look for the 'Dropbox' plugin. When you have located it, download it and it will be installed automatically. That's all, you already have it installed even if you don't see it with the naked eye.
Now, try to open any of the many emails that you will have in your inbox. Automatically, on the right side will appear the add-ons that you have downloaded and with which you can work in relation to email, including the Dropbox add-on.If you press it while keeping the email open, you will be able to see if it contains documentation or information that can be saved in your account to later consult it both in your Dropbox account on your computer and on your your Android phone (for now, before it makes an appearance on iOS).
Once selected, the plugin will tell you which email items can be synced with your Dropbox account, as you can see in the screenshot below.
Now just tap on any of the items it found and save it to your Dropbox account. Of course, before you have had to connect with your Dropbox account, otherwise it will not work. Choose the folder in your Dropbox where you want the document to be saved and that's it.
Now grab your Android phone. It doesn't matter if you don't have the Dropbox app installed, the plugin will still appear in your Gmail app. Open the application and, next, we look for any email or, if you already know which one, a specific one to download the documentation. We direct the screen all the way down, at the end of the email itself. Here we will find a bar where you can read 'Available Add-Ons'.
If you've done everything correctly, you should the Drobox icon next to the other plugins you have downloaded. Click on it and all the files and documents that we can download in Dropbox will appear again.Choose the one you want by clicking on it and save it in the selected folder. The folders must be previously created in your Dropbox account. You can choose, for example, to create a folder that is 'Gmail' to have the files sorted.
