The Google Assistant is preparing to manage your video calls
Table of contents:
I still remember when, as a child, I watched Science Fiction movies, in which the characters communicated with each other through screens, even when they were thousands of kilometers away. A premonition that years later came true, with webcams and applications such as Skype and that we can now do with the comfort of our mobile device. And we are not talking about applications like Google Duo, recent tools with which to make video calls, but with those that we can do via Google Assistant.
Make video calls with the Google Assistant
Now, Google incorporates video calls as a command in the Google Assistant itself. To perform them, we just have to activate the Google Assistant and ask it directly To invoke the Google Assistant we just have to press and hold the home button for a few seconds or say out loud 'Ok Google'. Later, we will have to say 'Make a video call to 'x', where 'x' is the contact you want to get in touch with. If you try to do it now, you will probably not get any results since it is only available for the English language.
Even if you try to change your phone's system language to English it might not make the video call correctly either.Try saying 'Make a video call to… + the name of the contact' The safest thing, as has happened to us with the test we have carried out, is to make a simple phone call and not the video call we expect. Therefore, we will have to wait for the update to reach our phone.
Google continues to try to make video calls take place among Android users, although their attempts seem somewhat unsuccessful, as well as attempts to have their own messaging application like Facebook has WhatsApp and Messenger (the latter owes its success, of course, to its indissoluble association with Facebook). Perhaps with the ease with which the Google Assistant will be able to carry out video calls, it will bring this communication system closer to more users. It must also be remembered that WhatsApp takes Google Assistant quite a bit ahead, since the green sandwich application even has group video calls. We will keep reporting.
