If you use Google Chrome, you're probably familiar with incognito mode. It is a feature that allows us to navigate in a hidden way, without registering in the search history or on our device. Although this mode was only in Google Chrome, it was to be expected that Google would implement it on YouTube. It has done so. YouTube incognito mode is now available to all users. Do you want to know what it is and how to activate it? We'll tell you then.
YouYube's incognito mode is very similar to Chrome's. The service will not save any data about your playback history or videos. That is, you will be able to view content without it being saved in the search history, but you will not be able to see related videos when you exit incognito mode either. A good option if, for example, you only want to watch a YouTuber's video out of interest, but you don't want to know anything else about its content. In this way, you will not get recommendations. Also, only the trending tab is active. Other categories will show nothing.
Yes, you may see recommendations for videos you've watched in incognito, but once you exit they won't show and you can continue with the content you are viewing. You can still set it to not show.
How to turn incognito mode on and off
It is very easy to activate the incognito mode on YouTube. In the application, we only have to go to our profile image located in the upper area. Once inside the small menu we will see an option that says “Activate the mode incognito". A notice will appear and the mode will be activated automatically. If we want to deactivate it, we go back to the profile picture and click on the first option that says "deactivate incognito mode". We'll quickly get out of that mode without leaving any kind of trace.
This option is slowly rolling out to users without the need for an update. If you haven't received it, don't worry, it won't take long to appear.
