How to measure distances and objects with your Android mobile
Mobile phones have become a true Swiss Army knife for all of us. We can use it for everything, to organize trips, to practice exercises and learn languages and even to get a little scared. In this case, we stop at an advanced function that only some terminals may have and that may be very useful for all those DIY enthusiasts. And if you just moved or plan to do so, even better. It is an application that measures distances in physical space using augmented reality.
The Android application is called Measure and it will only work on those terminals that are compatible with Google's augmented reality technology, ARCore. The list of terminals includes phones such as the OnePlus 3T, Huawei P20 Pro, LG G7 ThinQ and Samsung starting with the Samsung Galaxy A5 from 2017. Here you can find the complete list of terminals compatible with ARCore.
If you have one of these terminals you can now try Measure, the new official Google application that will delight even the most handyman in the house. In the Android Google Play Store you can download the application that is free and does not contain ads of any kind. With Measure you can do all this.
- Measure the length and width of objects in reality, whether you are at home or in the office, working like a typical tape stretchable metric that we all have at home.
- You can switch between different metric units depending on which country you are in.
- Save photos in your gallery of all the measurements you have made to consult later.
Google continues to release, intermittently, apps that try to help us make our lives easier. For example, we have Datally, an app to save data on our mobile rate; or for example Files Go, with which we will always have the mobile clean of folders and junk files. These applications are now joined by Measure, a very useful application that will save us space and time.
