Gmail for iOS is updated with smart notifications
If you have an iPhone and you regularly connect to Gmail, we have good news for you today. The Google company has just announced that it has added an interesting new functionality so that iOS users never miss an important notification again. We're talking about smart notifications But what exactly are they?
Gmail's smart notifications will alert users to the arrival of emails that are truly important.How many times have the messages you don't care about got mixed up with the ones you care about and you've lost the opportunity to reply to them in time? Well, this is what this feature is intended to solve.
For this feature to work properly, Gmail has relied on artificial intelligence and machine learning systems to identify those messages that you'll probably want to read first, either because they cover important topics or because they were sent by senders who are relevant to you, either personally or to your work.
The functionality will only be available in the Gmail app for iOS for now, but it could be coming to Android soon. Initially, the feature should be available soon, but if you don't have it yet, you can try updating the Gmail app from the App Store.
Once you have this feature, you will have to expressly activate it. And you can do it like this:
1. Open the drop-down menu within the Settings section, to access the Notifications section.
2. At this point you will have to select the option High priority only.
It is possible that when you start the application you will receive a notification announcing the availability of this function and that you only have to press the button Turn on .
From this moment on, the only Gmail notifications you will receive will be those that the tool itself considers important.
