The Google Messages app is updated with a new interface and features
Table of contents:
Google Messages (Also called Android Messages) is one of those applications par excellence. It is practically on all Android devices as the main SMS application, including those mobiles that have a manufacturing layer highly customized by the manufacturer. The truth is that the Messages application is not much special. It is used to send messages to our contacts, and it has a very intuitive and beautiful design. But it looks like an update will completely change the design of the app and add more features.
Google adapts Material Design to Messages. Now the top bar will turn completely white, regardless of where we are located (on the main page, contacts or chats). Previously, the top bar was blue if we were on the main page, and it changed to the color of the contact if we were chatting or sending SMSs. Also, the bottom floating button is now longer and will add text. Previously we only saw an icon. In this case, Google has not chosen to add a menu bar at the bottom as in its other applications.
Web messages and more news
Among the novelties, we find a search engine that will allow us to find all kinds of files in our conversations. Of course, also chats that we have made with contacts or groups. A GIF search engine is also added and the possibility of organizing the stickers. Finally. We must emphasize that the Google Messages application is preparing for a desktop mode. In other words, we can access it from our browser in a similar way to WhatsApp Web.
This update will gradually reach all users in the coming days or weeks. To update you just have to go to Google Play Store, my apps and check that there is an update available for this app. If your device does not include it, you can always download it for free from Google Play. Just search for “Messages” in the search engine and install it.
