Google Maps changes appearance again

If you are a Google Maps user, you should know that important changes are coming. At least in terms of design, because Google has decided to launch the transition to a new version, which is much more in line with the Material Design philosophy that has already been incorporated into other services.

Users who update to the new version (which, on the other hand, you should know is not yet available for everyone) will notice a very significant change in the user interfaceBecause it is completely renewed. White predominates above all things – the classic in Material Design – and much simpler menus are included. In fact, what it is about is offering a much cleaner service.

A cleaner, whiter design for the new Google Maps

The main menus are much simpler and the style of the buttons is now rounded. In general, the feeling is of more order. And speaking of order, some tabs have been rearranged. This was a feature that was already present in the old version of Google Maps (which is still, by the way, the next using a large majority of users), but now Google has decided to give more importance to nearby places. In turn, the categories of nearby places have also been expanded. This will allow us to perform much more detailed searches.

In general, this section – the others too – are much more colorful and showy And as if this were not enough, they are also included nearby events, indicated in a time frame. It's a good way to find out what's going on in each place, especially if you don't know it and you've just arrived as a tourist or traveler.

When will I be able to enjoy all the news of Google Maps?

The truth is that most users have not yet had the opportunity to test these new features.Neither do we. The improvements are arriving for a very select group and also, the update is being carried out on the server side This means that in principle it is not necessary to update the application to start seeing what's new. If you test it, this will not guarantee that you will have the new working version.
