WhatsApp will allow you to hide the photos you receive in the mobile gallery
Table of contents:
The latest Beta version of WhatsApp continues to include exclusive news that will still take time to appear in the stable version for everyone. This time, the instant messaging application itself will allow you to hide the photos you receive through the app in your gallery, in a simple and automatic way. Think about it. Sometimes we are in a group, with too many people, some even with whom we do not have much confidence, and the images that are sent can be of all kinds. Even the ones we can't teach our parents.
A situation that can put us in more than one bind. How many times have we gone to show our mother the photo of the cat that we have just adopted and she ends up looking at the happy black WhatsApp? So that this does not happen, you must do two things, very simple. First, enter the WhatsApp Beta group and then uncheck a box in its settings. Ready to hide WhatsApp photos in your phone's gallery?
How to join the WhatsApp Beta group
As we told you before, in the WhatsApp Beta group you will have the possibility to obtain news much sooner than other users, as well that, if you are a little curious, it is mandatory that you join the group. Be careful, the application updates will be much more frequent and may give the occasional failure or battery drain but nothing alarming.
What we have to do is enter the WhatsApp Beta group page. You will see a screen like the one attached to the screenshot.
Just click on 'Become a tester'. Then an information message will appear with the instructions you have to carry out.
Suppose you already have the Beta version of WhatsApp that contains this latest function of hiding photos from the gallery. Make sure it is version number 2.18.59 or higher. To do this, enter the Play Store on the WhatsApp page and click on 'More information'. At the bottom you have the corresponding version number.
How to hide WhatsApp photos in the mobile gallery
Now we proceed to explain how to hide the photos that are sent to us through WhatsApp in the gallery of our phone. Make sure you are on the main WhatsApp screen, not on a chat screen. Next, we are going to click on the three-point menu that you can see in the upper right part of the screen. Next, we enter our 'Settings' and within these, in 'Data and storage'. On this same screen you will see, at the bottom, a section where we can read 'Show multimedia files in the gallery' Uncheck it.
Now, if we enter our gallery, the WhatsApp folder should not appear and the photos that have been sent to us (yes, the compromised ones too) will have disappeared. If you enter the gallery and they keep appearing, you will have to give the application some time for the change you just made to take effect. Do not despair because sometimes it can take a while for the changes to take effect. Do not forget to stay tuned to our publications because we will offer you all the exclusive news that, from now on, you will be able to enjoy thanks to belonging to the WhatsApp Beta group. Enjoy!
